What does Chartburst do?


Chartburst was built to perform two main services:-



1. Connect unsigned musicians with major Record Labels, Artist Management Companies and Producers for record deal consideration and guaranteed, structured feedback from experienced A&R representatives. 2. Provide a 'one stop shop' for serious music fans looking to discover fresh new music before it breaks into the mainstream, and also to allow them to help shape the future of the music industry by giving them the power to vote for those musicians they think should 'make it' in the music industry. Sick of the same old music in the charts? Get voting on Chartburst to change this!
 

How does Chartburst work?

It's simple: Chartburst connects musicians with Record Label A&R via our user-voted, genre-specific charts. Musicians upload their best track to the chart of their choice and promote it to friends and fans to help get it as many votes as possible. If they get enough votes to put their track in the top 5 it will automatically be forwarded to the Record Label A&R who is monitoring that chart for feedback and record deal consideration.

 

Who can upload music to Chartburst?

Virtually everybody!
As long as you make English language music, we want to hear it on the site. It doesn't need to be a studio quality recording, we just need to be able to hear the talent. We are planning to create Chartburst in other languages in the future.

How many tracks can I have in the charts at a time?

You can only have one track in the charts at a time

We think that you'll have the best chance of getting your submission into the top 5 if you concentrate all your efforts on getting people to vote for just one track at a time.



How often do the charts reset?

The charts reset every month
This gives a good balance between dynamic charts that don't get 'stale' and giving the charts a chance to evolve organically.

If my track is in the top 5 when the charts reset, when will I get feedback from A&R?

Within one month

You'll receive feedback from A&R within one month of the chart resetting in a feedback form via email.
 

What if the label like my music?

They'll be in touch

If the label like your track enough they may want to contact you to discuss possible deals etc. If this happens, you'll be notified by email and your contact details forwarded to the A&R interested in you.



What if I'm offered a record deal?

We'll help you in any way we can

The whole point of Chartburst is to help get unsigned musicians signed, so if you're offered a deal we'll offer to have a lawyer who specialises in the music business look over any contract offered to you to make sure you're getting a fair deal. We're here to help!


What sort of music can I upload?

Chartburst caters for nine different genres of music: Dance, Folk, Hiphop, Acoustic, Country, Indie, Pop, Rock and World music. We are also working hard to get a Media/Film/TV chart up and running so that you can get your music on films/TV shows and video games!

'Who's watching...' section

Each chart has a 'Who's watching' section that tells you which label is listening to the Top 5's. More importantly, it also tells you what the A&R (talent scouts) at that label are currently looking for in terms of the style/influences of the track. If your track is closer to what they're looking for it can only be a good thing!

How do I create an account?

    1.    Click either the 'Sign Up Free' or 'Login / Reigster' buttons on the homepage. Alternatively, you can login with your Facebook credentials.
    2.    Fill out your details (the more info the better).
 

How do I upload music to my profile?

    1.    Login and click the 'Upload' button on the navigation bar (top of page)
    2.    Select the track to upload (Note: Maximum file size is 8 Megabytes)
    3.    Select an image to upload for the track (optional)
    4.    Click the pink arrow to begin uploading (please be patient!)

Soundcloud
If you have a Soundcloud account you can import tracks from your Soundcloud account using the Soundcloud import button on the 'Upload' page.

How do I submit a track to one of the charts?

    1.    Login and click the 'Submit' button on the navigation bar (top of page)
    2.    Select the track you want to submit to a chart
    3.    Select the chart you wish to submit the track to (choose the chart whose genre most closely matches that of your submission)
    4.    Click the pink arrow to submit to the chart

Listener

Choose this account type if you're a music fan looking for new, undiscovered artists and want to vote on tracks to help influence who gets heard by top Record Labels. The power to decide who 'makes it' in the music industry is 100% FREE!



Musician

Choose this account type if you're a musician looking for a record deal or feedback from a major label, top Producer or Artist Management company!

 


Payment & Billing

Chartburst is totally FREE for listeners. Musicians only pay if they want to upload to the charts, and even then we give you plenty of time to test drive the full service...

Listener accounts

Are totally FREE! As a listener you can hear unlimited new music, vote on unlimited tracks, interact with the artists and win prizes for doing all of this!

Musician accounts

Free Account
Musicians free accounts are free to create. You can upload your music, vote for others tracks and do everything paid members can apart from upload to the charts.
